Grishley here…
Hello lovelies, lets do a little math. If I have 4 make up brushes and I use them every week day, and twice on the weekends, then again for special occasions, three times on date night… (Let’s see carry the one, multiply by two, do I divide somewhere?)
Enough said. You use your makeup brushes a lot! Next question: How often do you clean them? If your answer to this was: Oh… am I supposed to? This is the post for you!
Makeup brushes not only collect bacteria from application, but also can pick up toxins and other bacteria from their near bathroom/toilet environment. In order to keep them safe, and to also help keep your skin clean and healthy it is recommended that you clean your brushes at least twice a month, more often if you have sensitive skin, and here is how!
1-Invest in baby shampoo. If you don’t have a brush cleaner recommended for your specific type of brush, pick up a travel size baby shampoo. The sensitive nature of the baby formula will keep your brush from loosing bristles and also help remove oils from the brush without degrading the glue in the base of the brush head.

2-Then in a small dish add the baby shampoo, and warm water. The shampoo formula is formulated to work in warm (not hot) temperatures. This will not only allow you to kill germs, but using cooler water will also help the glue in your brushes stay intact.

3-After you have removed all of the pigment from your brushes, give them a quick rinse, and then prep them to dry. I recommend tipping your brushes-while still damp shape the bristles into the shape that best helps you apply your makeup.

4- At this point you can leave them upright in a jar to dry or roll them in a towel and spread to dry.
Easy enough right?
