{By Grishley: You Can’t Always Get What You Want}
Grishley here…
Time and time again, we at the shop get the request for the “Perfect Little Something” and while we are fairy godmothers of fashion delight, sometimes specificity and satisfaction don’t go hand in hand. Here my loves are the retail rules to live by. They will save you time, patience, and sometimes also save you money.
Start off with a timeline, if you have some time, then you will be able to be more specific. If you need it sooner, you will have to be less specific, or go without (not a personal best recommendation) but if you have to decide on a new “something” or meals for the rest of the month… well there is nothing chic about cup o’noodles.
Once you have established a timeline, set some criteria. Give yourself some wiggle room, and make sure you know how much you are willing to spend, know if you are willing to make alterations, and try to give multiple purposes to the items you purchase.
Whether you have the time to shop online, or if you are well within minutes of a nervous breakdown, being smart and managing shopping time can lead to great results. If you are in a rush and need a blouse for an evening out bring the rest of your outfit with you when you are shopping. If you need it to match a great pair of slacks… bring them!
At the end of all things retail loves- we must remember that the events that need new clothes often are moments that make memories. You won’t remember years from now whether or not you had the right shade of red on, but you will remember the memories you made. Clothes are a great way of expressing yourself, but they can’t say anything without you in them!
Case in point my dears where there is a will there is a way! Not only to look fabulous, but to also take the stress out of getting dressed for all your events!
Just remember to breathe!
